Dr Scott Elaurant is a civil engineer/economist with 34 years’ experience in infrastructure planning, design and economics. Previously he worked for Jacobs for 13 years and Federal and State government transport agencies in Canberra and Queensland. His work experience included major road and public transport projects in Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia. Projects include light rail, busway and road projects across all States. Economics work included strategies on water supply, bioenergy, nuclear energy inquiry for SA, and employment projections. In recent years he has focused on concept development and business cases for light rail and other public transport projects in Adelaide, Auckland and Perth.
As Six Cats Consulting he provides services in planning and economics for active transport, public transport (particularly light rail) and streetscapes.
He is National Treasurer and Chair of the SA branch of TAS, a Chartered Engineer and a member of the US Transport Research Board Light Rail Research Committee.
